POLICIES

    * Class starts at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm.
    * Students are to notify director if unable to attend class.
    * A minimum of 90% attendance (315 hours) is required for successful completion of the program. Tardiness will affect graduation criteria.
    * Students are required to act in a professional manner.
    * Students are responsible for obtaining notes or information missed due to absenteeism.
    * Arrangements must be made by student to make-up missed tests and/or class work.
    * Dress is casual due to nature of the training.
    * Equipment will be provided by the school.
    * Abuse/misuse of drugs/alcohol is cause for expulsion.
    * Early dismissal from class must be granted by director.
    * Students will receive three warnings prior to termination.



GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students must maintain a 70% average which will be based on ten quizzes (10%), three tests (20% each), and a final exam (30%). Grades will be scaled as follows:

        100 - 90% A
        89 - 80% B
        79 - 70% C
        69 - 60% D
        59 - 0% F

Students must attend 90%, or 315 hours, in order to receive a diploma. The students are also required to accompany a field technician to an actual jobsite at least once prior to graduation. Placement assistance provided to the students includes resume writing, forwarding of resumes to prospective employers, and arrangement of interviews.

OBJECTIVES

Due to the intense training, students will graduate the program in ten weeks. Upon satisfactory performance of course work, eligibility for certifications will be obtained for NICET and ACI. A diploma will also be awarded for the successful completion of the program. This will allow the student to obtain entry level positions as either a technician or inspector in the civil engineering and/or construction industry.
